In the United States, Buddhism is mostly the realm of people who are at least a little bit oppositional in some sense. Christianity is hegemonic here, and the loudest Christians typically denounce any other belief system. To be Buddhist requires an unusual amount of intellectual and moral curiosity.

Buddhism is not for conformists.

But it is one size fits all. The consciousness you strive to become aware of as you awaken is the same for everyone, regardless of gender, skin color, sexuality, level of intelligence, or anything else. It is the enabling and motivating element…
