It’s a Beautiful Day

Where I am, anyway.

Weather, Oklahoma City, March 1, 2022

The weather may suck where you are. If so, you have my sympathies.

I am in Oklahoma, so I know this will not last very long. March is usually a pretty, um, active month in terms of weather here in Oklahoma. I grew up hearing that it comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, except that it can as easily come in like a lion and go out like a lion. March is sort of the beginning of tornado season here, although thanks to climate change, tornado season is pretty much all year these days. I grew up here, so tornadoes do not much impress me.

But on the Buddhist path, we try to live in the present, and the present is, um, salubrious here just now, so I thought it merited remark.

Keep up your consistent meditation practice, in fair weather or foul. Actually, sitting inside meditating is a great activity for a rainy day, to say nothing of a day of tornadoes.

I would like to enlighten everyone. You may help with this important project, and accumulate good karma, by donating here. I feel like I should be a bit louder about thanking the people who have already donated, especially the recent large, anonymous donation. I appreciate all of them enormously.
